Biography

Qantas Socceroos
Youngest of two brothers that are among the best goalkeepers in Australia at the moment. Along with Jason (Perth Glory), Michael has represented the Qantas Socceroos, albeit intermittently. Was chosen for the 2005 Confederations Cup and started against Tunisia in the third game. Has been plying his trade in Turkey with leading side Trabzonspor, before surprisingly moving to newly promoted club Sivasspor in 2005-06. Commands his area very well, is an excellent shot-stopper and very comfortable with high balls into the area. Has a tough job to displace incumbent Mark Schwarzer, although is one of a number of keepers being looked at as his No.2.
