Biography
 
The Uruguayan arrived in Adelaide in December 2010, signed by the club in the 2011 January transfer window. Not unfamiliar with passionate rivalries and emotion packed games during his club football in Uruguay, the tough holding midfielder was given a baptism of fire in his Reds debut as he lined up against Melbourne Victory at AAMI Park. Instantly Reds fans knew they had a player who would give his all for the club as he did not take a backward step against former Melbourne skipper Kevin Muscat, while he may have proved the Reds’ lucky omen as they ended a long run of losses against the Victory. Usúcar has represented Uruguay’s U-20 and U-17 national teams, having played in Uruguay’s Primera Division with Central Espanol and also spending a short stint with high profile Greek club Panathinaikos.
