| Born in the Portuguese city of Torres Vedras, Da Silva spent two years in Adelaide as an international high school student before going back to Portugal. He trialled in Italy and played in Portugal’s second division with Sport Clube União Torreense, however a move back to Adelaide for family reasons in 2007 saw him play five seasons with three different clubs in South Australia’s Super League competition. A classy, versatile attacking midfielder, Ricardo impressed Rini Coolen, the Reds Head Coach signing him to a one year deal for the 2011/12 season. |
