Manchester United have spent the week promising to put on a show and after a 5-1 victory over the inaugural Foxtel A-League All Stars side there is no doubt a packed out ANZ Stadium enjoyed every minute of it.

The Red Devils might have unveiled a couple of all stars of their own as Jesse Lingard and Danny Welbeck both scored a brace in a dominant performance by the Red Devils.

The red-drenched crowd did not have to wait long for a goal as Lingard scored the opener in the 11th before Danny Welbeck got his first just after the half hour mark.

Soon after the break Brisbane Roar’s Besart Berisha gave the All Stars hope with a solid finish but the two goal lead was soon restored as Lingard scored three minutes later after a great set up by the mercurial Ryan Giggs.

Young gun Welbeck got his second with a header off a corner sent in from crowd favourite Robin Van Persier who came on in the second half to a standing ovation.

The Dutchman put the icing on the cake in the 87th minute as he eventually got the ball past Michal Theo to complete the 5-1 rout.
