Biography

At 31-years-old, Thomas Broich is one of the more experienced players in the Brisbane Roar line-up but it didn’t take long for the former FC Nuremberg midfielder to make his mark in Australia when he first arrived in 2010. The German wasted no time at all slotting seamlessly into the Hyundai A-League, quickly becoming one of the competition’s most dangerous players with his sublime footwork, pinpoint crosses and endless energy. With six goals and 14 assists, including two in the Grand Final, Broich was a worthy winner of Brisbane Roar’s prestigious Gary Wilkins Award for Player of the Year in the 2010/11 season. In the 2011/12 season, Broich won the Johnny Warren Player of the Year medal for best player in the Hyundai A-League.
