Biography

Bernie Ibini’s first full season in the Hyundai A-League last campaign was a successful one, with the tall marksman netting seven times in the competition to finish level with Patrick Zwaanswijk and Matthew Simon as the teams’ top league scorer. Born in Nigeria, Ibini was the best goal-getter in the 2010/11 version of Australia’s National Youth League, prompting astute judge Graham Arnold to use him in the 2011 Hyundai A-League Finals Series. Having represented Australia at under 20 level and already touted as a future Qantas Socceroo, many judges will be keen to see how the pacey striker backs up his first full season in Australia’s top flight in 2012/13.
