Biography

Mustafa Amini is undoubtedly one of the brightest young talents in the Australian game. A true No.10 with a killer touch and creativity to match, Amini burst onto the national scene during the 2010/11 Hyundai A-League season. Outfoxing opponents many years his senior, Amini’s trickery and guile instantly endeared him to the Mariners faithful, and earned him recognition from Qantas Socceroos boss, Holger Osieck. Called into an extended Qantas Socceroos squad prior to a friendly win over Germany in Germany in March 2011, Amini has since signed a four-year deal with current Bundesliga Champions, BVB Borussia Dortmund. Under the terms of the deal, Amini was instantly loaned back to the Mariners to spend another season honing his craft under the guidance of Graham Arnold, and in the familiar surrounds of Bluetongue Stadium. Amini was included in the Qantas Young Socceroos squad for the 2011 FIFA U20 World Cup in Colombia, and at just 18 has already represented the Qantas Olyroos (U23s) as well.
