Tomas Rogic joined Central Coast Mariners on a five-month contract in early January and is looking to make his mark on the Hyundai A-League having penned his first professional deal. The exciting, creative young midfielder shot to prominence having won a place in the Nike Academy following a worldwide competition held in 2011. Having impressed during his time at the Academy in England – where he scored seven goals in 20 games – Rogic was offered a deal with English Championship outfit Reading FC. Having had that opportunity scuppered due to work permit issues, Rogic was quickly snapped up by astute Mariners coach Graham Arnold – a man with grand belief in the silky playmakers ‘talent.
