A stylish winger who can play in a central attacking role, Rutger Worm's signing marked a major landmark for Melbourne Heart FC, with the 24-year-old holding the distinction of being the first foreign player ever signed by the Club. Despite his youth, Worm managed to mass over 100 first team appearances across six seasons in the Dutch Eredivisie, including a starring role in NEC Nijmegen’s unlikely run to the UEFA Cup round of 32 in 2009. Worm holds the unique distinction of being the first player to score in the Hyundai A-League in Heart colours, ensuring his place in club history.
