Mahazi's Melbourne move

Melbourne Victory can today confirm that talented young midfielder Rashid Mahazi has signed with the club on a two-year-deal.

The 21-year-old joins from VPL side Northcote City after playing a starring role during their early dominance of the competition this season.

The Melbourne born midfielder has spent plenty of time with his new Victory teammates already, having traveled with the squad during its recent tour of Tasmania and he has also made several appearances during trial matches leading up to next week's Hyundai A-League season.

Melbourne Victory Head Coach, Ange Postecoglou, said the midfielder would provide extra cover in the middle of the park.

"Rashid's performances throughout the pre-season have been very promising and we are looking forward to seeing him further develop as he spends more time with the squad in the lead-up to the season," Postecoglou said.

"We see him as a player with plenty of upside and someone that can fit well into our structures while also providing us with further depth in midfield."
