Melbourne Victory stars Matt Foschini and Leigh Broxham will be taking part in the 21 Challenge, an initiative from Open Family Australia in support of youth homelessness.
The initiative sees participants challenge themselves to do, or not do something for 21 days starting on June 1 and culminating on June 21, the longest night of the year in the southern hemisphere and one of the most difficult for young people living on the streets.
The boys have decided to challenge each other to take part, with Matt challenging Leigh to wear a different tie every day of the challenge, while Leigh has challenged Matt to wear a different hat each day.
Each day of the challenge the boys will tweet pictures of themselves sporting their new accessory to keep fans up-to-date with their progress. Follow them at @mattfoschini and @leighbroxham.
Defender, Matt Foschini, believes the initiative was a great way to give back to the community.
“Youth homelessness is a big problem in this country and the 21 Challenge is a fantastic chance for us to help support the work of Open Family Australia,” said Foschini.
Midfielder, Leigh Broxham, shared these sentiments.
“The best part about this initiative is that it’s a fun and enjoyable way to support a really serious issue,” said Broxham.
Open Family Australia is an official charity partner of Melbourne Victory and provides long-term assistance to individuals who are homeless.
As part of the 21 Challenge, Open Family Australia is trying to raise $400,000 to help support young people who are living on the streets.
