18-man squad announced for Saturday's game

The Hunter Ports Newcastle Jets have named their 18-man squad to take on the Melbourne Victory at AAMI Park on Saturday night.

As the pointy end of the season approaches, Jets coach Gary van Egmond has the luxury of a full-strength squad to choose from.

The Jets are bolstered by the return of captain Jobe Wheelhouse after two weeks on the sidelines with a groin injury, while Labinot Haliti and Connor Chapman also come into the squad.

The Jets face the eighth placed Victory in a crucial match that will have a big bearing on the make-up of the finals series.

Newcastle will be looking to continue their outstanding recent form that has seen them win four of their last five games. A win for the Jets will consolidate their current spot in the top six.

However, the Victory will be equally desperate to pick up the three points, as anything less will not be enough to keep their slim finals hopes alive.

Week 22 squad: 1. Ben Kennedy (gk), 2. Taylor Regan, 4. Nikolai Topor-Stanley, 5. Tiago Calvano, 6. Ben Kantarovski, 8. Jeremy Brockie, 9. Michael Bridges, 10. Ruben Zadkovich, 11. Tarek Elrich, 12.
