Biography
 
Topor-Stanley played at Sydney FC and Perth Glory before arriving at the Newcastle Jets in 2009. Last season’s Player of the Year will again provide a cornerstone in the Jets defence this year. The 26-year old was a colossus in the second half of last season and will benefit even further with the composure and experience of Tiago Calvano alongside him in defence this year. Tall, strong, very quick, left-footed central defenders are very scarce and ‘Big Nikolai’ has further scope for improvement. The Canberra born talent should be a major threat at set pieces and if he takes up where he left off last season, may get a call up to the Socceroos sooner rather than later.
