Qantas Socceroos match against Iraq on Fox Sports and SBS

Football Federation Australia (FFA), FOX SPORTS and Foxtel, and SBS have today announced that the FIFA 2014 World Cup Asian qualification match between the Qantas Socceroos and Iraq in Doha, Qatar, next Wednesday morning will be broadcast live on FOX SPORTS and on a one hour delay by SBS.

Exclusively live coverage of the match will be broadcast on FOX SPORTS 1HD and FOX SPORTS 1 from 12.45am AEDT Wednesday.

The SBS free-to-air coverage will commence on SBS ONE at 2am AEDT Wednesday.

“Once again, I thank our long-term partners and rights holders FOX SPORTS and Foxtel for accommodating this arrangement,” said FFA CEO Ben Buckley.

“Last month all parties co-operated to see the Socceroos v Jordan FIFA World Cup qualifier broadcast live on FOX SPORTS and on delay by SBS.

"FFA is currently in advanced discussions with Fox Sports and SBS over the long-term broadcast rights in Australian football.

“As an interim step, the arrangements for the Iraq match show the goodwill inherent in these talks and the way in which all parties are prepared to work collaboratively for the good of Australian football.”
