The inaugural Sydney derby is officially sold out, with the final tickets being snapped up by fans five days out from the game.
The showcase match will follow the F3 derby between Newcastle Jets and Central Coast Mariners and fans who have tickets can expect Parramatta Stadium to be rocking, with both teams searching for their first win of the season.
The match will also feature a few former Sky Blues, including Wanderers FC skipper Michael Beauchamp and striker Mark Bridge, who go up against their former club for the first time.
Even more exciting, the match will see two great international stars line up against each other for the first time in the Hyundai A-League, with Shinji Ono and Alessandro Del Piero both set to take the pitch.
The rush for tickets forms part of what has been an exciting start to the 2012/13 Hyundai A-League and the Wanderers will look to continue in that fashion when they take on Sydney FC at Parramatta Stadium this Saturday night.
Wanderers CEO and former Head of the Hyundai A-League Lyall Gorman is extremelty proud of the match selling out well ahead of time.
“This has been a much anticipated event since the Wanderers joined the Hyundai A-League,” Gorman said.
“Saturday will see football at the forefront of everyone’s mind and we at the Wanderers thank everyone for getting in early and purchasing their tickets and demonstrating their support for the Hyundai A-Leagues “newest, oldest club.”
While all public tickets are sold out there is still an avenue for fans desperate to see the first ever match between the two sides to attend and that is by purchasing a Wanderers Membership or corporate package, an option Gorman got behind.
“There are still opportunities to attend the match, whether it be by becoming a Foundation Member of the Wanderers or at a corporate level so we encourage people to explore these options and join us at Parramatta Stadium for this historic event.”
