Sydney FC coach Ian Crook says he aims to add more pace to the Sky Blues attack with the promotion of youth player Blake Powell to the senior squad.
The 20-year-old, who hails from the Sutherland Shire but also played junior football with Blacktown and Sydney Olympic, joins Sydney FC direct from the Sutherland Sharks, and spent the last two years with Sydney's National Youth League side.
Former Youth team coach Crook said the youngster would fit well into the style he's now looking to imprint on the senior squad.
“Having coached [Blake] in the Sydney FC youth team I know what he is capable of and his style of football suits how we are trying to play," Crook said.
"He’s quick, smart and likes to run at people. I think he’ll do well with us if he puts in the hard work and continues to improve.”
