Ange Postecoglou has continued his rebuilding of Melbourne Victory, signing attacking midfielder Jess Makarounas from Perth Glory.
The 18-year-old has only made four senior appearances for Glory but is considered a great prospect, having already represented Australia at U16 and U17 levels, and made his debut for the club in Glory’s 4-2 win over Victory in March last season.
Postecoglou has used the transfer window to reshape Victory's youth socks, also signing Francesco Stella from Scottish clubs Rangers.
The loss of a player of his potential is another blow for Perth, which has seen the likes of Trent Sainsbury, Adam Taggart, Eli Babalj and Julius Davies all leave WA for other Hyundai A-League clubs.
Neither club has confirmed the transfer but are expected to make a formal announcement on Monday.
