Biography
 
A Newcastle local Emily started out playing for Dudley Redhead United and a mixed U12-15 side at Macquarie Rep before making her first Westfield W-League appearance for the Newcastle Jets in 2008. From there the midfielder’s career blossomed with a stint at Canberra United and her first national team appearance for the U17’s squad. Since then Emily has played for the U20 national side and represented the Matilda’s where she become the youngest ever player to score in the World Cup for Australia. In between seasons Emily headed overseas playing for Fortuna Hjorring in Denmark, Western New York Flash in the USA and Seattle Reign FC. In 2013 Van Egmond returned home to sign with the Western Sydney Wanderers, making her debut against Adelaide United in Round One of the 2013/14 Westfield W-League season.
