Sydney Youth prove too strong for Perth Glory in the Foxtel National Youth League on Sunday morning at Intiga Stadium.

Mitchell Malia, Blake Powell and Alex Urosevski were the goal scorers for an impressive Sydney outfit, who out-gunned a Glory side that featured several players with Hyundai A-League experience.

Malia opened the scoring just prior to the halftime break, wrong-footing David Stokoe and slotting it past Jack Duncan in the Glory goal, while Powell and Urosevski added two more in the second half.

Result aside, Glory with Chris Harold, Adrian Zahra, Jacob Collard and Riley Woodcock all causing the Sydney defense havoc at different times during the match, with Zahra in particularly unlucky not to be awarded a penalty when his arm was pulled back during one of his attempts inside the box.

Duncan was also impressive in the Glory goal, saving several strong attempts on goal throughout the game.

The match was still very much in the balance early in the second half before Powell pounced on a loose ball from a corner and scored in the 53rd minute for Sydney.

The Sky Blues' second goal made the job difficult for the WA side but they responded with a barrage of attacks through Ndumba Makeche, Jack Clisby and Brandon O'Neill, with O’Neill coming the closest after hitting the cross bar from a long-range effort.

But against the run of play, Urosevski scored Sydney’s third goal to put the result beyond doubt.

The undefeated Sydney FC youth side now move onto to Gosford to take on the Central Coast Mariners youth, while Perth travel to the ACT to play the Australian Institute of Sport team who are 1-1 after beating the Newcastle Jets Youth in the opening round of the competition 2-0.

Sydney 3 (Mallia 43, Powell 53, Urosevski 73)
