Biography

Averaging a goal every three games since joining the Central Coast Mariners in 2006, productive front man Matt Simon has earned a reputation of one of the most lethal strikers in the Hyundai A-League. A full Qantas Socceroo, Simon is also an Olympian having represented Australia at the 2008 Beijing Games under the guidance of Graham Arnold. Simon’s rise to Hyundai A-League stardom is the result of unwavering commitment to fulfil his dream. Initially spotted playing amateur suburban football, Simon grasped an opportunity to train with the Mariners with both hands, impressing the coaching staff with his tenacity and eagerness to earn a living from football. In early 2012, Simon left the Club for K-League Classic outfit, Chunnam Dragons. However, he re-signed with the Mariners in May 2013, and will turn out for the Mariners in the 2013/14 Hyundai A-League season.
