Biography
 
Abbas grabbed headlines when seeking asylum in Australia after playing against the Qantas Australian u23s for the Iraqi u23’s side in an Olympic Games qualifier. Iraqi born Abbas joined Newcastle Jets in 2009, and then signed for Sydney FC ahead of the 2012/13 season. The livewire midfielder can play in a number of positions and is always a threat whether dribbling or supplying crosses.
