SYDNEY FC DONATION AND PLAYER APPEARANCE POLICY
As a high profile sporting organisation, Sydney FC recognises the significant responsibility it has to service the football family and the general community. The club’s coaches, players and community staff each year spend many hours working in and with the community.
Additionally, Sydney FC is aligned with a number of charities and worthy causes. During the 2011-2012 season we will work closely with a number of targeted organisations delivering support and assistance in order to make a real impact on people’s lives. Our partners currently include:
• Children’s Medical Research Institute (committed to unlocking the mysteries of childhood disease)
• UNICEF (Every child has the right to a childhood; to be healthy; to an education; to be treated fairly; to a voice; to survive)
• The Sydney Children’s Hospital (improving the health and wellbeing of children and their families through promoting wellness and caring for illness effectively, efficiently, compassionately and equitably)
• beyondblue (the national depression initiative)
• Movember (supporting cancer and depression and anxiety initiatives)
• Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (developing and implementing an early detection program for ovarian cancer)
• Football United (football’s refugee program bringing people together for the common goal of creating harmonious and cohesive societies)
DONATIONS/PLAYER APPEARANCES
Sydney FC receives many hundreds of requests for donations, player appearances or assistance each year from a wide variety of organisations and causes, schools and community groups. Whilst we endeavour to provide support where we can, it is not possible to fulfil every request because of the level of demand.
In order to be eligible for a donation/player appearance, a Donation/Player Appearance Application Form needs to be downloaded, completed and submitted. This procedure ensures that requests are able to be properly recorded and tracked.
Please note that:
• Requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis, with priority given to requests that align with the causes supported by Sydney FC and requests from members and corporate partners.
• Receipt by Sydney FC of this request does not guarantee that the request will be granted.
• We will confirm receipt of any request and subsequently inform all applicants of the outcome of such request.
• Due to the volume of requests, we will not accept items for signing.
• Requests for monetary donations or sponsorships will not be considered.
• Personal requests for birthdays, weddings or anniversaries will not be considered.
• Player appearance requests must indicate the role to be undertaken by the player(s).
• Players must not participate in any activity where there is a risk of injury.
• Requests must be made at least six (6) weeks in advance of the event.
• Appearances are scheduled for one (1) hour. Any extension of this will be considered at the time of the request, where appropriate.
Please note that in relation to player appearances:
• Player availability is limited during the playing season.
• Players are not available on match day.
• Players are generally not available the day before or after a match.
• Players are entitled to one day off per week as well as four weeks annual leave.
• Once an appearance has been confirmed, it is possible that due to unforeseen circumstances, including amended paying and training schedules, an appearance might have to be cancelled with regret. Although a rare occurrence, we need to bring this to your attention.
In order to include details of the player appearance on Sydney FC’s social media, the club seeks approval for photographs of the appearance to be published.

Please note, though:
• Lodgement of the ‘Donation/Player Appearance Request Form’ does not guarantee that the request will be met.
• Sydney FC will attempt to accommodate the request, but it is subject to the request conforming with Sydney FC’s Donation/Player Appearance Policy and, where appropriate, the availability of players based on existing club commitments.
