Fundraising Coordinator

Reporting into the General Manager – Fundraising, this Sydney-based fixed-term role will support the development and delivery of marketing and fundraising plans for multiple projects. The focus will be on supporting our digital engagement campaigns to generate new supporters and increase fundraising revenue, the coordination of regular (monthly) giving programs, and general administration and donor support. The ideal candidate will be seeking a career start in this field, will be enthusiastic about learning the foundations for campaigns and fundraising and have a passion for making a difference.

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Support the General Manager to implement the Philanthropic Campaign Strategy with specific focus on donor acquisition, retention, and stewardship to achieve annual fundraising targets
  • Assist with the planning, execution, and evaluation of digital campaigns
  • Coordination of regular giving programs including donor communications, and planning and delivery of exclusive member events
  • Responsible for the accurate development, maintenance and updating of the fundraising and communications, including CRM, databases
  • Act as the main point of contact for donor enquiries and requests
  • Provide support by responding to email and phone enquiries from supporters, receipting and managing merchandise stock
  • Support the management of existing partnerships through exceptional customer service including timely thank you communications
  • Support the preparation process for meetings with donors and prospective donors (e.g. by drafting briefing notes, making appointments, organising logistics, research etc.)
  • Assist with the drafting and production of clear and visually compelling donor reports, funding proposals, and presentations
  • Assist with event planning, implementation and follow up donor engagement
  • Participate in the forecast and expenditure budgeting process

Experience and skills required 

  • Experience in a NGO or not for profit assisting in fundraising and/or marketing tasks will be advantageous
  • Strong administrative and customer service background
  • Passion for social inclusion and advocacy is strongly desired
  • Tertiary qualification/certificate in events management, marketing, communications and/or fundraising
  • Excellent project management skills, organisational skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines
  • High quality digital applications and social media skills
  • Some experience with databases including import, export, and report extractions
  • Intermediate to advance skills in a wide range of Microsoft Office programs and email marketing platforms e.g. Mailchimp
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to showcase initiative and work in a small team environment to achieve results
  • Enthusiastic approach to learning and developing new skills
  • Empathy and ability to communicate with people from all walks of life
  • High level of personal accountability and integrity
  • Ability to think creatively and to contribute innovative new ideas
