Junior Programs Officer - MiniRoos & Sporting Schools (NT Based)

Football Australia, the national governing body for football, is currently seeking a full-time Junior Programs Officer – MiniRoos & Sporting Schools starting in June and based in Northern Territory.

Reporting to the National Junior Programs Manager, this role predominantly focuses on Principle IV, VII, IX and X (Principles can be found here) and is based in the area of Participation. This role is responsible for the operational tasks relating to National Junior Participation programs (MiniRoos Kick-Off, MiniRoos Club & Schools Programs), and the Whole of Football Schools Framework including National Primary Schools and High School programs. The role requires strong stakeholder management to help support the A-League and Westfield W-League Clubs, local associations and community clubs and the schools within the state. Further, this position requires strong attention to detail and diligent planning to execute strategic priorities to introduce and retain more participants in Football.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and deliver logistical tasks for sporting schools programs including; online booking portal, data capture of teachers, school equipment orders and distribution of relevant resources to coaches and teachers
  • Recruit, train and deploy state-wide workforce to deliver fun, educational and engaging football sessions in a safe and inclusive environment
  • Manage budget for Sporting Schools and manage coaching workforce payments
  • Liaise with Football Australia Finance Team for invoicing
  • Conduct surveys each term to measure quality and experience
  • Manage teachers and parents and provide a quality customer experience
  • Consistently report to all stakeholders on program and participant numbers and transition percentages
  • Increase the number of schools who choose sporting schools football programs by promoting local community clubs and connecting teachers to become teacher ambassadors
  • Work with local community clubs to help drive registration for non-registered participants
  • Development and implementation of state specific plans to convert school participants to local club participants
  • Delivery of Sporting Schools, Before/After Schools programs, Gala Days, etc. 
  • Increase MiniRoos brand awareness
  • Work with local A-League/W-League Clubs to facilitate and execute fan engagement initiatives
  • Work with local community clubs to facilitate and execute transition of school student to local player initiatives
  • Develop and implement an engagement plan for the region
  • Identify potential growth areas, including remote communities
  • Work with Coach Development Managers to oversee the training and development of a local taskforce, including Coach Developers, Program Managers, Coaches and Game Leaders
  • Administration support of MiniRoos Kick-Off
  • Oversee the use of MiniRoos collateral by local sites
  • Provide a reliable information source for parents, clubs, and community sites

Experience and skills required:

  • Experience within the game of football (player, referee, coach, and administrator)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Positive and approachable personality 
  • Proficient communication skills – confidence speaking in public and delivering information 
  • Ability to demonstrate collaborative and inclusive approach to problem solving 
  • Attained the MiniRoos Coaching Certificate 
  • Hold a valid Working with Children Check 
  • Passion to develop the game of football 
  • Driver’s license   
  • Ability to demonstrate collaborative and inclusive approach to problem solving
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Enthusiasm and a high-level of self-motivation and initiative, both independently and as a part of a team
  • Consistently proactive, taking initiative whenever possible
  • Flexibility to work some weekends, after hours and for interstate travelling
