FFA Cup 2021 set for huge November with matches galore

The FFA Cup 2021 will continue next month with Football Australia confirming match details for several Round of 32 fixtures.

FFA Cup 2021 Round of 32 to continue from Saturday, 6 November in NSW, ACT & VIC

The Round of 32 will see eight (8) more fixtures across the East and South Zones in November.

After the postponement of the FFA Cup Round of 32 matches drawn in the East (NNSW, NSW and ACT) and the South (VIC, TAS), Football Australia is pleased to confirm that eight fixtures have been scheduled and will commence from the first week of November to continue the progression of this year’s competition.

The all-National Premier Leagues (NPL) NSW clash between Mt Druitt Town Rangers FC and Wollongong Wolves FC will kick things off, with Popondetta Park confirmed as the venue and a 7pm AEDT kick-off time set for Saturday, 6 November.

For the first time in the 2021 Final Rounds there will be simultaneous kick-offs on Wednesday, 10 November when Hume City FC take on Port Melbourne Sharks SC at ABD Stadium in Melbourne, and Broadmeadow Magic FC host Western Sydney Wanderers FC at No.2 Sportsground in Newcastle from 7:30pm AEDT.

The action will continue on Friday, 12 November when National Soccer League (NSL) giant and National Second Tier aspirant, South Melbourne, welcome defending A-League Men Champions Melbourne City to Lakeside Stadium in one of the marquee fixtures of the Round of 32, with kick-off scheduled for 7:30pm AEDT.

A further two matches will be played the following day on Saturday, 13 November, with mouth-watering NPL v A-League matches scheduled in NSW. Subject to restrictions easing between Greater Sydney and regional NSW, the FFA Cup will go regional when Blacktown City FC face Central Coast Mariners at Glen Willow Stadium in Mudgee at 5pm AEDT. On that same night, Newcastle Olympic FC host Macarthur FC, who make their FFA Cup debut, at No.2 Sportsground at 6pm AEDT.

How to watch the FFA Cup in 2021

On Wednesday, 24 November a massive Sydney derby takes place between another NSL giant and National Second Tier aspirant, Sydney Olympic FC, and A-League powerhouse Sydney FC at Belmore Sports Ground, while Tigers FC will take on the historic APIA Leichhardt at Viking Park on the same night, with both games scheduled for 7:30pm AEDT.

All games are available to watch live & free on 10 Play, with international viewers able to tune in via the My Football YouTube channel. Ticketing details will be confirmed shortly.

Due to border closures, the Round of 32 clash between Victoria’s Avondale FC and Tasmania’s Devonport Strikers will be confirmed at a later date.

FFA Cup 2021 Round of 16 begins this Sunday, 17 October with an Adelaide derby

Meanwhile, the first FFA Cup 2021 Round of 16 fixtures commence this Sunday, 17 October as Adelaide Olympic host Adelaide United at VALO Football Centre. This has been made possible with a shift to regionalise the Round of 32 and 16 into designated Zones, ensuring the competition was able to commence in September in parts of the country.

The Round of 16 will then continue next Sunday, 24 October with Lions FC welcoming Brisbane Roar to Lions Stadium in Richlands. Details for both matches can be found here.

Football Australia is working with all stakeholders to schedule the remaining Round of 32 matches and subsequent Round of 16 fixtures in line with State Government Public Health Orders. It is envisaged that Round of 16 matches will be drawn and played in quick succession across November and early December, before the competition moves away from Zones for the Quarter Finals. Details and dates for the later stages of the competition will be released in due course.

An update on the FFA Cup 2021 Final Rounds Play Off matches

Additionally, the FFA Cup Play Off matches between Perth Glory and Melbourne Victory as well as Western United and Newcastle Jets are to be confirmed, with Football Australia working diligently with clubs and the A-Leagues to schedule these fixtures.

Once the Play Offs are confirmed, Football Australia will then schedule the final two Round of 32 fixtures which will see Adelaide City take on the winner of Perth Glory and Melbourne Victory, and Wellington Phoenix meet the winner of the match between Western United and Newcastle Jets.
