Football Australia announces match official panels for the A-Leagues

The Football Australia Referees Committee have finalised the match official panels for the upcoming 2021/22 A-Leagues Seasons.

Tim Danaskos (NSW), Lachlan Keevers, Jack Morgan (VIC) & Casey Reibelt (QLD) have all been promoted to referees for the A-League Men competition, while Isabella Libri, Bec Mackie (NSW), and Caitlin Williams (VIC) have been promoted for the A-League Women season.

The new A-Leagues 2021/22 season will kick off on November 19 for A-League Men and December 3 for A-League Women.

In addition to the announcement of the panels, over the off-season James Cleal, Adam Fielding and Tony Peart advised of their retirement from national duty.

Cleal has been an assistant referee for 63 A-League Men matches, having made his debut on 17 October 2015 with Newcastle Jets v Sydney FC. James’ final fixture was the F3 Derby between Central Coast Mariners and Newcastle Jets on 1 June 2021. James has also been a great servant to football in the Northern NSW competitions, and is still planning on officiating locally.

Fielding refereed 41 A-League Men matches over seven seasons, having made his debut on 16 November 2014 with Melbourne City v Central Coast Mariners. Having moved to Perth from the United Kingdom with eight years of refereeing experience under his belt, he quickly found his feet at NPL level and was promoted to the A-League Men panel in 2014/15. Adam refereed his final match on Sunday 26 September with the FFA Cup Round of 32 tie between Floreat Athena and Adelaide United.

Peart was added to the A-League Men assistant referees panel for the 2018/19 season after relocating from the UK, and officiated 14 matches in two seasons. Unfortunately, Tony was struck with a serious injury last season and was unable to take the field, and also not expecting to return this season. He has instead decided to focus on his new role as Head of Referees for Football Victoria having recently moved north from Tasmania.
