Vale Karen Harris

Football Australia is saddened to hear the news of the passing of Matildas' cap #60, Karen Harris.

Born in South Australia, Karen was known as a versatile fullback, who played with Elizabeth Downs, Campbelltown City, Renegades and Modbury Vista.

Before making her national team debut in 1989, she was part of most South Australian squads at the senior national championships from 1985 to 1995, starting as a 15-year-old in the 1985 tournament in Melbourne.

She made three appearances for the Australian A side at the 1989 Oceania Cup at Brisbane's Perry Park, starting against Australia B (D0-0) and coming off the bench against both Papua New Guinea (W6-0) and Taiwan (L1-4).

Karen was described by her teammates as, "A lively team-mate who played with carefree passion and a smile on her face."

Football Australia's thoughts are with Karen's family, friends, teammates and loved ones.
