Westfield Matildas international friendly against Canada cancelled due to COVID-19 situation

Football Federation Australia (FFA) today confirmed that the international friendly between the Westfield Matildas and Canada, scheduled for 14 April (local time) in Vancouver, BC, has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 situation.

FFA and Canada Soccer have been in regular discussions regarding the fixture, and in light of developments in both Australia and Canada over the past days, the decision has been made to cancel the game.

Football’s National COVID-19 Working Committee, comprising representatives from FFA, the Hyundai A-League and Westfield W-League, Member Federations and Professional Footballers Australia, will continue to give regular updates to the football community as it meets to consider advice on the COVID-19 outbreak from federal and state/territory governments.
