Australia's pots allocated for Tokyo 2020 Olympic football draws

With under 100 days until the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games commences, the pots for the draw of the Women's and Men's Football Tournaments have been announced.  

Allocated according their FIFA Women's World Rankings on 16 April, the Westfield Matildas have joined Canada and fellow AFC compatriots, China, in Pot 3. 

The full pot allocations for the Women's Olympic Football Tournament are as follows: 

Pot 1: Japan, USA, Netherlands
Pot 2: Sweden, Great Britain, Brazil
Pot 3: Canada, Australia, China PR
Pot 4: New Zealand, Chile, Zambia

For the Olyroos, the official pot allocation for the Men’s Olympic Football Tournament is as follows:

Pot 1: Japan, Brazil, Argentina, Korea Republic
Pot 2: Mexico, Germany, Honduras, Spain
Pot 3: Egypt, New Zealand, Côte d’Ivoire, South Africa
Pot 4: Australia, Saudi Arabia, France, Romania

The Home of FIFA in Zurich will host the draws for the Olympic Football Tournaments, set for 21 April at 6:00pm AEST.

The draws will be conducted by Sarai Bareman, FIFA Chief Women’s Football Officer, and Jaime Yarza, FIFA Director of Tournaments. Meanwhile FIFA Legend and two time Olympic Gold Medallist, Lindsay Tarpley, will be the draw assistant.
