Australian referee Chris Beath has been appointed as the Assistant Video Assistant Referee (AVAR) for the AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019™ Final between Japan and Qatar on Saturday morning (AEDT).
The appointment comes off the back of a stellar tournament for Beath, who refereed the Semi-Final between Japan and Iran on Tuesday morning (AEDT).
Beath also refereed two group games: Bahrain v Thailand, and Lebanon v DPR Korea.
The 34-year-old has been part of an historical tournament after the VAR was made available for the first time in an AFC Asian Cup™ upon the commencement of the Quarter-Finals stage.
