Rae Dower's CommBank Junior Matildas have learnt their group stage opponents for the AFC U17 Women's Asian Cup Indonesia 2024™, taking place from May 6 to 19, 2024 in Bali, Indonesia.
Australia has been drawn into Group B, alongside Japan, China PR & Thailand for the upcoming tournament, with eight teams set to feature in the upcoming tournament.
The CommBank Junior Matildas were seeded into Pot 3 and will take on the reigning champions for the 2019 edition of the tournament, Japan, as well as China PR, who placed third back at the tournament in 2019, beating Australia 2-1 in the third-place match.
This will be Australia's 7th appearance in the AFC U17 Women's Asian Cup, with the best-ever finish coming back in 2019 and 2009 when Australia finished in fourth place.
The top three teams at the AFC U17 Women's Asian Cup Indonesia 2024™ will qualify for the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup 2024, which is set to take place in the Dominican Republic.
