FFA comment regarding Sporting Integrity Investigation in Victoria

1 min read

Football Federation Australia (FFA) today acknowledged the charging of two people as part of a Victoria Police Sporting Integrity Intelligence Unit (SIIU) investigation into allegations of match-fixing and subsequent betting involving a match in the Victorian National Premier Leagues 2 competition.

FFA Chief Executive Officer David Gallop said FFA were notified of the arrests last night, after an investigation which spanned 18 months involving the SIIU.

“The preservation of the integrity of football is paramount and FFA will take all necessary steps to cooperate with authorities to this end,” said Gallop.

As the matter will shortly be before the courts, FFA will not make further comment at this time.
