FFA fines Ernie Merrick for breaching National Code of Conduct

1 min read

The Head Coach of the Newcastle Jets, Ernie Merrick, has been fined $3,000 after being found to have breached the FFA National Code of Conduct.

Merrick was asked by FFA to explain statements he made in the post-match media conference after the Hyundai A-League Round 16 match between Newcastle Jets and Perth Glory on 27 January 2019.

In determining the appropriate sanction, FFA took into account a range of factors, including that this was not Merrick’s first breach of the Code.

Merrick has until 25 February 2019 to appeal FFA’s determination, should he wish to do so.
