Fixture Change in Pacific Four Nations Tournament

Football Australia has been informed by the Papua New Guinea Football Association (PNGFA) that their senior national women’s team is unable to field a team for the final fixture of the Pacific Four Nations Tournament.

PNGFA advised Football Australia they have diagnosed six players as unfit to play for medical reasons, meaning Papua New Guinea is unable to field a squad for tomorrow’s match against the CommBank Young Matildas on Sunday 13 November.

Football Australia understands the advised position and would like to wish the players a speedy recovery as well as thank the PNGFA for their ongoing involvement in the competition.

In lieu of the scheduled fixture, the CommBank Young Matildas will play against themselves in an elite match. Seven additional Australian players will be brought into the squad for this to happen.

Both Sunday matches remain open to the public and will be streamed LIVE via the Football Australia YouTube account. For those wishing to attend, entry will be FREE of charge.
