Twelve female grassroots referees recently had the opportunity to learn from their Westfield W-League refereeing idols as they prepared for the 2016/17 Season.
The Brisbane based referees were invited to train with Westfield W-League referees Casey Reibelt, Lara Lee, Rachel Mitchenson and Rebecca Durcau as they discussed how to implement the changes to the FIFA Laws of the Game.
In addition to discussing the new law changes the referees got the opportunity to participate in a number of simulated practical scenarios as the referees fine-tuned their skills under the guidance of former FIFA Women’s World Cup Referee and current FFA Instructor Jacqui Hurford.
To cap off the experience, the twelve referees were invited to attend a Westfield W-league match and experience the live action and excitement of a Westfield W-League match.
