It’s OUR GAME! Australian football celebrates Female Football Week 2022

With just over 15 months until the biggest standalone women’s sporting event, the FIFA Women’s World Cup™ hits our shores, Australian football will once again celebrate Female Football Week to spotlight and celebrate the enormous contributions of women and girls across all parts of the game.

This year the #FFW2022 will run from Friday, 6 May to Sunday, 15 May with nationwide activities to promote female participation and encourage women and girls to own the future of women’s football confidently and unapologetically.

There has never been a more exciting time for women’s football in Australia and that energy is felt throughout the grassroots community as football looks to become Australia’s largest community sport to reach gender parity by 2027.

Female Football Week is aimed at bringing the game together so we can:

  • BUILD our game through increased female participation, involvement, and investment.
  • ENHANCE our game through more opportunities for women and girls to develop and grow as players, coaches, referees, and leaders.
  • CELEBRATE our game through recognition of outstanding contributions.

There are plenty of opportunities to get involved through the Member Federations. Click on the links below for more details about what is happening in your state.
