Match Official Appointments: A-League Women's 2022/23 Grand Final - 30 April 2023

Football Australia is pleased to announce that Queensland’s Casey Reibelt will whistle this Sunday’s 2022- 23 Liberty A-League Women’s Grand Final between Western United FC and Sydney FC at CommBank Stadium in Sydney.

This will be Casey Reibelt's second appointment as the referee for a W-League/A-League Women’s Grand Final, having also presided over the 2013 decider between Melbourne Victory FC and Brisbane Roar FC at Lakeside Stadium in Melbourne.

Additionally, Reibelt has also been a Grand Final Additional Assistant Referee (AAR) in both 2019 and 2022, as well as Fourth Official on four occasions (2009, 2012, 2013, 2015).

Supporting Reibelt will be Assistant Referees, Mi Suk Park (QLD) and Maddy Allum (NSW), along with Fourth Official Isabella Blaess (SA) and Fifth Official Emma Kocbek (NSW).

Sunday’s match will also be Mi Suk’s second Grand Final, having been appointed to the 2020 fixture between Melbourne City FC and Sydney FC, played behind closed doors at Melbourne’s AAMI Park.

Allum, Blaess and Kocbek will be involved in their first Grand Final, while Renae Coghill (QLD) – herself a three-time grand final assistant referee (2015, 2016, 2019) – has been appointed as the referee coach.

Football Australia Head of Referees Nathan Magill said these appointments are recognition for the strong domestic seasons all officials have had.

“Their selection for Sunday’s Liberty A-League Women’s Grand Final is deserved acknowledgment of their consistent performances throughout this season, particularly for Casey, who has had an exceptional twelve months at both a domestic and international level.

“Football Australia along with the Referees Committee would like to extend our thanks and gratitude to the entire match officials panel for their commitment and professionalism throughout the 2022-23 season. All officials have dedicated themselves to their craft and overseen an exciting season ahead of this year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup on home soil,” concluded Magill.
