Record-breaking 56,604 fans turn out for CommBank Matildas v USA series

A combined crowd of 56,604 fans turned out in Sydney & Newcastle in November to see our Commonwealth Bank Matildas take on World Number 1 USA.

A record 36,109 turned out on 27 November at Stadium Australia to break the attendance record for a Matildas match on home soil.

And three days later in Newcastle, 20,495 fans turned out to see the Matildas secure a 1-1 draw and also break the attendance record for an Australian women's national team match in the Hunter.

It comes as the FIFA Women's World Cup 2023 in Australia & New Zealand is now just under 600 days away, with the excitement continuing to rise as we prepare to welcome the world.

For the Matildas, their next challenge is the 2022 AFC Women's Asian Cup in India, which kicks off on 20 January.

Tony Gustavsson's side kick off their campaign against Indonesia, before facing the Philippines and Thailand.
