Principle VII - Survey

The seventh survey based on ensuring ‘a whole of football approach to protecting and enhancing the game through modern, efficient, and effective governance’ is now live.

The focus of Principle VII is to transition towards a modern, fit-for-purpose governance framework for football in Australia in line with global standards and best-practice sports governance in Australia.

Football in Australia operates through a federated model which has evolved over time to consist of several layers of administration.

Football must consider what the purpose of the various administrative bodies in Australian football are and the role they play within the ecosystem. Without clearly defined roles and responsibilities, Australian football will continue to struggle to reach its potential.

Thought must therefore be given to what the role of the various administrative bodies and other football entities should be to ensure that Australian football can be administered more efficiently and effectively.
