George Keith

George Keith played local football in Scotland from where he was signed by Arsenal as a junior player after impressing while representing Scotland in a Schoolboy international match.

Looking for better opportunities, he migrated to Australia as a 21-year-old and started his new career in Melbourne with the Hakoah club.

The move paid off when he caught the eye of selectors and was chosen in the Australian squad to play against New Zealand in Saigon in 1967.

He was selected in the squad to contest the 1970 World Cup campaign which went on to become Australia's first team to qualify for a World Cup finals tournament.

His last 'A' international match was against Israel in a World Cup qualifier in Sydney in 1969.
