The CommBank Young Matildas progress to Round 2 of qualifying for the #AFCU20W

The CommBank Young Matildas played the second game of their 2024 AFC U-20 Women's Asian Cup Round 1 Qualifiers campaign, recording a 7-0 over the Kyrgyz Republic and progressing to Round 2 of qualifying.

Head Coach Leah Blayney made four changes to the side that defeated Guam earlier in the week, with Alana Murphy, Jynaya Dos Santos, Ella O'Grady and Tijan McKenna all entering the Starting XI.

Jynaya Dos Santos gave Australia the lead in the fourth minute, a corner whipped in by Alana Murphy was unable to be cleared by Kyrgyz Republic with Dos Santos finishing at the back post.

Murphy doubled Australia's advantage with a free-kick, curling her shot into the top corner from just outside the box.

Four changes at the break from Blayney saw Tahlia Franco, Anika Stajcic and Ava Briedis make their first appearance of the qualifying campaign, while Kahli Johnson made her second appearance, replacing Murray in the attack.

Australia made it 6-0 just minutes into the second half, with Alana Murphy weaving her way through two defenders and scoring her second of the night.
